Who we are
Gale Jesi
Gale Jesi is founder, owner, and chief critique professional
of PhotoCrit.com.
Jesi studied fine arts at U.C. Berkeley,
earning her BA in 1990 (Phi Beta
Kappa). In 1994, Jesi went on to earn her M.F.A. degree in Fine
Arts from U.C. Davis, which at the time was ranked number one in
Public Graduate Art Programs in the U.S. (U.S.
News and World Reports). In both programs she studied
fine art, critical theory, and art history.
Jesi has had numerous
solo and group shows both nationally and internationally. She has
been a curator for the Yerba Buena Gardens in San Francisco, and
was on the Art Selection Committee for the Federal Courthouse in
Sacramento. Before studying Fine Arts, Jesi owned a graphic design
firm in Richmond, Virginia.
She currently teaches
Photography and has done so for over 12 years.
Critique professionals
PhotoCrit.com
also employs professional and fine arts photographers who have
been through extensive training on Photography and Visual Literacy.
